Fear
Let’s talk about something everyone can relate to.....Fear!
Fear is one of those emotions that is hard to deal with and can paralyze you. It can turn your life into a tailspin of anxiety, self-doubt or depression. Not facing your fears will only continue to hold you back and keep you in a stagnant spot.
Why is it so hard for us to face our fears? Are you afraid of failure, being alone or bringing up an emotion you don’t want to address? What is it that really makes you take a backseat to the challenge of conquering your fear?
I have always been terrified to shoot a gun. I had the desire to learn, but when it came down to holding a gun or even sitting at a gun range, I would cry and stand in fear. One day, I told Ronnie I wanted to shoot a gun. He knew how scared I was, but went slow and encouraged me along the way. I knew I was in a safe space, but knew I had to do it. I looked at my paper target, took a deep breath and pulled the trigger. I now love to visit the gun range and shoot a few rounds.
When you conquer a fear, feelings of pride, confidence and self satisfaction will fill your mind and heart! This will help you to continue on a path of success and positivity.
So...how did I conquer my fear?
First, I prayed. I asked God to help clear my mind and give me the courage to fight this fear.
Second, I told myself I could do it. If you tell yourself you can’t do something, then you won’t do it. Get those negative thoughts out of your head!
Third, I took a lot of deep breaths and gave myself time. Sometimes you need to take small steps or actions to get to where you want to be. Life is a marathon not a sprint....be the tortoise not the hare!
Say a prayer...tell yourself “I’ve got this”...take a deep breath and go tackle that fear!
YOU ARE ENOUGH!
