The Best Yes
Let’s talk about choices and free will! Free will is the act of making your own decision in a given situation. Do you act in the moment, think about the consequences first, pray about it or ask for advice from someone you trust?
I hope you have someone in your life (a spouse, parent, sibling or friend) that helps you when you are presented with a situation where you need guidance. Growing up my mom is the one that helped me in making decisions along my path. The best decision was saying yes to Jesus. I asked him to come into my heart 30 years ago!
How often do you sit down and turn on the tv or open the newspaper (do people still do this…lol) or click on that email and see one negative thing after another?
There are a lot of things we don’t understand on this side of Heaven (“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33), but my friend rest assure that you are not alone (“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9)
Our days are hard and draining, but when you surrender your life to Jesus you have a peace in your heart and a glow on your face. Do you still have bad days, fight temptation and want that driver to drive over a box of nails because they cut you off….absolutely…you are human! When I encounter things like this I will yell out “NOT TODAY SATAN” or you can be like my sister, Ashley and roll down your window and yell “Y’ALL NEED JESUS!”
God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for us….yes-our sin and shame put him there, but 3 days later he was resurrected! The good news is this, for those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior will live with him in eternity (“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16).
Time has never been closer to his return! Are you ready…”So you must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” Matthew 24:44
“I am the Alpha and Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8
So, how do you become a follower of Jesus:
1. Admit you are a sinner…For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
2. Believe Jesus is Lord…If you declare with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
3. Call upon His name…For, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13
If you haven’t already said Yes to Jesus…there is still time…say this simple prayer aloud:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for Your mercy, grace and love. In your sweet son, Jesus’ name we pray….Amen
Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Psalm 105:4
